This database has been expanded to offer greater coverage of 20th century research as well as access to full text.
Initially, the research database provided access to the only comprehensive record of dissertations accepted by American universities between 1933 and 1955, the print index Doctoral Dissertations Accepted by American Universities. However, the newly enhanced database includes more than 172,000 theses and dissertations in total, including 80,000 new citations for theses and dissertations from 1902 to the present.

Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)
DOAJ is a community-curated online directory that indexes and provides access to high quality, open access, peer-reviewed journals. The project defines open access journals as scientific and scholarly journals that meet high quality standards by exercising peer review or editorial quality control and “use a funding model that does not charge readers or their institutions for access”. The aim of DOAJ is to “increase the visibility and ease of use of open access scientific and scholarly journals thereby promoting their increased usage and impact”.
Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB)
The Directory of Open Access Books (DOAB) is a discovery service for peer reviewed books published under an open access licence. DOAB provides a searchable index to the information about these books, with links to the full texts of the publications at the publisher’s website or repository.

This research database provides indexing and abstracting for key library and information science journals, books, research reports and more. It is EBSCO’s intention to provide access to this resource on a continual basis.
Library, Information Science & Technology Abstracts (LISTA) indexes more than 600 core journals and more than 120 selective and priority journals. Coverage in this research database extends as far back as 1960. LISTA also includes author profiles and a robust thesaurus.
Library On A Flash is an application that was conceived by the Office of Technology and Digital Services (OTDS) of the American University of Nigeria (AUN), Yola. In its (AUN) mission as a Development University, AUN has gathered hundreds of FREE e-books, links to peer-reviewed journal articles and access to both local (Nigerian) and international news sources. The following is a list of grouped resources and a brief description or each grouping:
e-Books – A collection of over 800 e-Books grouped into 26 different subject headings. These books are free to download and read, and no Internet connection is needed to access them. There are also 53 e-books targeted for secondary schools and grouped in to 13 subjects.
Open-Access Resources – There are 237 links to online resources and grouped into subject areas that provide free access and download of resources (e-books, journal articles, etc.) Internet connection is required to access these resources.
e-Books websites – A collection of websites where you can download e-books for free.
Subscription Databases – These resources are generally the databases you would find in a world class academic University Library. A subscription is required to download articles but most of these databases would allow you to perform searches without subscribing. Also, users would have to be connected to the Internet to access the databases in this category. There are 34 links in the databases section.
Finally, there are also 6 workbooks (PDF format) and 6 radio broadcasts (audio) for the TELA Project as well as 41 story books (PDF format) for the STELLAR project aimed at primary school students.

SAGE Pure Gold Open Access Journals
The following lists the pure gold open access journals published by SAGE. All articles published in the journals provide worldwide, barrier-free access to the full-text of articles online, immediately on publication under a creative commons licence. All articles are rigorously peer-reviewed retaining the quality hallmarks of the academic publishing process that authors would experience in publishing in any traditional SAGE journal. Most SAGE pure gold open access journals are supported by the payment of an article processing charge (APC) by the author, institution or research funder of the accepted manuscript.
ScienceDirect is Elsevier’s leading platform of peer-reviewed scholarly literature. It provides subscription-based access to a large database of scientific and medical research. It hosts over 12 million pieces of content from 3,500 academic journals and 34,000 e-books. The journals are grouped into four main sections: Physical Sciences and Engineering, Life Sciences, Health Sciences, and Social Sciences and Humanities.
Teacher Reference Center
A complimentary research database for teachers, Teacher Reference Center (TRC) provides indexing and abstracts for more than 220 peer-reviewed journals
TEEAL is The Essential Electronic Agricultural Library. Launched in 1999, it is a digital collection of research journals for agricultural research and research in related sciences, with full-text articles and graphics of over 200 major journals. TEEAL is a project of Cornell University’s Albert R. Mann Library in cooperation with over 60 major scientific publishers, societies and index providers.
